Sonja Baikogli Foley, Co-Founder

Sonja holds 15+ years of diverse experience in non-profit, public and private organizations and has always been drawn towards impact-driven work that genuinely makes a difference in the lives of others. Born to Iranian refugee-status parents in Sweden, she experienced her life from the eyes of displaced parents. These early experiences and hardships shaped Sonja’s foundation and made her the person she is today.

Educated in Sweden, Canada and Spain, Sonja began her career in media working in radio and continued to create change through her career — from participating in the United Nations, to serving as a board of director on the YWCA Canada Board for five years, to being appointed to the West Vancouver Police Board by the Province of BC in 2020, and most recently led the Intergovernmental Relations & Strategic Partnerships team at the City of Vancouver.

Sonja co-founded Maturn out of a desire to support women and turn maternity leave into an intentional year. She’s a proud mother of two who is driven to build a more equitable, compassionate and inclusive world for future generations.

Cayley Benjamin

A mom herself, Cayley is an experienced coach and facilitator that values kindness, candour and vulnerability. After 14 years as a personal and leadership development coach and facilitator in the corporate world, Cayley now focuses on supporting moms through their journey of matrescence – the profound transformation that a person undergoes as they journey through motherhood.

Cayley completed her coaching certification through the Co-Active Training Institute and has a depth of experience as both an internal and external coach with organizations. Her current work is informed through mentoring with Dr. Aurelie Athan, Ph.D, Faculty at Columbia University and the world’s leading researcher on matrescence, and her Motherhood Studies Practitioner Certification with Dr. Sophie Brock.

She’s a mom to a sensitive and energetic three year old and on a fertility journey to having her second.

Her mission: to support moms to define life on their own terms.

Sophie’s work with women leaders and entrepreneurs addresses the significant life transition of becoming/being mothers. She supports and empowers them to examine the limiting beliefs and self protective strategies that come into play alongside their evolving roles, values, priorities and sense of identity so they can feel confident and thrive at work and in life.

Personal touch: Sophie lives in Calgary, Alberta where the sky is expansive and the Rocky Mountains are in her backyard. She is a mother to 6-year old twin boys who keep her on her toes and provide daily practice on staying curious and welcoming uncertainty with flexibility and grace.
